PC gamers who have been looking for an on the go solution may now have an answer. Valve has announced the Steam Deck, a completely capable PC that will launch this December. It will start at $399. The announcement came hours before the Nintendo Switch OLED preorder began.

Steam Deck features a 7‑inch touchscreen, two thumbsticks with a D‑pad, and a four-button control layout. The Steam Deck will play games from the user’s Steam account , which uses the device itself instead and no streaming. There is a charging dock that connects to external displays via HDMI or USB‑C, but it will be sold separately. You can also use other powered USB hubs if you already have them.

Three models will be available at the beginning: 64 GB version for $399, a 256 GB NVMe SSD for $529, and a 512 GB NVMe SSD model for $649. All three will come with a carrying case, while the more expensive versions will include perks like Steam Community profile bundles. The 512 GB model even features anti-glare etched glass.

Preorder are live right now on Steam’s official website, with the intended shipping period set for December 2021. Of course, no specific date for December was provided. You can check out the specs below, as shared on Steam’s site.
