Ubisoft announced a new studio in Saguenay as part of their plans to expand in Quebec, creating 1,000 jobs by 2027.

The Saguenay office could grow to 125 employees within five years and jobs for the new studio are already posted on Ubisoft’s website. Ubisoft Saguenay will be specifically working on “the development of connected experiences that allow millions of players to meet and interact on online game platforms.”

CEO of Ubisoft Montreal, Quebec, and Toronto Studios, Yannis Mallat, stated ““We are entrusting Ubisoft Saguenay with a mandate that is resolutely focused on the future.” Ubisoft Saguenay studio is expected to open on January 31st, 2018.

Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec are known for great games like Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Watch Dogs 2, and the Assassin’s Creed series. In addition to new jobs from the new studio, Ubisoft anticipates Quebec will get 200 new jobs and Montreal 675. Ubisoft Saguenay is the 4th studio in Canada, although Ubisoft did announce a 5th studio today, but gave no details.
