Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner has stepped down from his position. Former chief executive Dan Connors will now take over as CEO.
Bruner sent a company wide email to inform people of his decision. The internal email was originally obtained by Kotaku.
“Today I am writing to let you know that I’ll be stepping away from my position as CEO of Telltale. We’ve grown aggressively since Telltale’s inception, and now Telltale is bigger than I ever dreamed it would be. There are many possible futures for Telltale, and all of them are exciting and uniquely challenging. The time has come to pass the reins to someone that can better drive Telltale to the next level and realize all the potential that is here.”
Telltale states that the transition from Bruner to Connors will be seamless. Bruner will remain on the board of directors throughout the transition. A similar situation happened with the CEO before Bruner so the company is familiar with the process which will likely help the transition go smoothly.
Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead season 3, and Game of Thrones season 2 are currently being worked on by Telltale. These games will likely not be affected by the change, but plans for future games may.
