As unfortunate as it may be, Season One of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has been delayed. Originally scheduled to launch on December 10th, it will now arrive a little less than a week later on December 16th. No reason for the delay was given. As expected, it will be the biggest content update for the game to date, including a bunch of free goodies to try across both titles.
Black Ops Cold War will receive plenty of new multiplayer content, which includes maps, Gunfight (the mode from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) and the Raid map for Fireteam — this is based of the map from Black Ops 2.
Zombies is also getting more modes and challenges, along with a seasonal prestige system that is cross-title — meaning your progress will likely carry over to into the next Call of Duty game.
For Warzone, battle royale players will get the 30 weapons from Black Ops Cold War, including their Blueprint versions. There will also be a brand new map and mode. There is also some sort of new mystery “Gulag experience”, so being knocked out of a match might look a bit different.
Treyarch also recently promised another wave of double XP during December, which they are making good on. Starting December 12th and running through until the start of Season One, players will get double XP and weapons XP, as well as two free pre-season bundles. All you have to do is log on between December 8th and December 15th to get them, which contain thing like operator skins, weapon blueprints, reticles and calling cards.
