PlayStation recently announced the new Players’ Choice Award, allowing players to vote on their favorite games of the month. You can vote on new games released for each month, and last month’s winner was revealed today.
Monster Hunter: World has won the first ever Players’ Choice, which shouldn’t be of surprise. The title has become hugely popular, even in markets it’s normally not. It won with 50% of the total vote.
Dragon Ball FighterZ was the runner up, with 20% of the vote, followed by EA Sports UFC 3 and Celeste.
Next month has a solid line-up of games, including, Shadow of the Colossus, Secret of Mana, and Metal Gear Survive, among others. February 28th is the next time the poll opens up for the Choice Award.
It is unclear what the reason for the poll is, be it to introduce players to games they wouldn’t normally purchase, or if this indicates some sort of sale for the winner.
