PlayStation’s Players’ Choice Award for January Revealed

PlaySta­tion recent­ly announced the new Play­ers’ Choice Award, allow­ing play­ers to vote on their favorite games of the month. You can vote on new games released for each month, and last mon­th’s win­ner was revealed today. 

Mon­ster Hunter: World has won the first ever Play­ers’ Choice, which should­n’t be of sur­prise. The title has become huge­ly pop­u­lar, even in mar­kets it’s nor­mal­ly not. It won with 50% of the total vote.

Drag­on Ball Fight­erZ was the run­ner up, with 20% of the vote, fol­lowed by EA Sports UFC 3 and Celeste

Next month has a sol­id line-up of games, includ­ing, Shad­ow of the Colos­sus, Secret of Mana, and Met­al Gear Sur­vive, among oth­ers. Feb­ru­ary 28th is the next time the poll opens up for the Choice Award.

It is unclear what the rea­son for the poll is, be it to intro­duce play­ers to games they would­n’t nor­mal­ly pur­chase, or if this indi­cates some sort of sale for the winner.
