Sony’s PlaySta­tion Days of Play event is back for 2021, and its offer­ing spe­cial rewards to earn, sales, a free mul­ti­play­er week­end, and more. Sony went through all the details in a blog post, but you can check out some high­lights below.

Player Event

Play­ers can reg­is­ter to take part in an event which asks users to work togeth­er to play games and earn Tro­phies, thus unlock­ing spe­cial rewards like PSN avatars and themes.

Reg­is­tra­tion is open and avail­able right now and you can sign up, here. Stage one begins May 18t, in which play­ers can earn points toward three dif­fer­ent goals. The first one is sim­ply play­ing a PS4 or PS5 game for at least an hour dur­ing the week. Dou­ble points will be reward­ed if you play games with friends who are also registered. 

The sec­ond goal calls on play­ers to earn Tro­phies, need­ing to reach a cer­tain num­ber to reach the goal. Each per­son can unlock a max­i­mum of six PS4/PS5 tro­phies per week to count towards this. 

The third goal is the a Bonus goal. Should the Games and Tro­phies goals be com­plet­ed, a new set of extra goals will be announced and detailed.

As far as rewards go, its just as it has been in the past. Play­ers will receive spe­cial PSN avatars and PS4 dynam­ic themes, which will be deliv­ered to the inbox of your con­sole. As a friend­ly reminder, dynam­ic themes are only avail­able on PS4.

Days Of Play Celebration Sale

Along­side the Days of Play event is a sale on PS4 and PS5 games, as well as “oth­er select prod­ucts and more,” as announced by Sony. Of course, the games prices will vary depend­ing on your region. Sony has­n’t giv­en any details on the sale aside from announc­ing the sale.

Free Multiplayer Weekend

PlaySta­tion own­ers will not need PlaySta­tion Plus to play games online across PS4 and PS5 with a free mul­ti­play­er week­end. How­ev­er, Sony did not spec­i­fy which week­end will be free.

Share Of The Week

This is part of the Days of Play event, with Sony kick­ing off the “Share of the Week” event where the com­pa­ny will select user cre­ations based on a par­tic­u­lar theme. The first will be announced on May 14th, with the con­test start­ing short­ly after.
