Overwatch’s Winter Wonderland Returns!! New Mode + Skins Galore!

Bliz­zard announced the return of Over­watch’s Win­ter Won­der­land event, which has a new brawl (along­side an old one) and plen­ty of hol­i­day-themed good­ies. Black For­est, King’s Row, and Hana­mu­ra have also been decked out for the hol­i­day sea­son. Win­ter Won­der­land is a three week long event, start­ing today and end­ing Jan­u­ary 1st.

Yeti Hunter

This brand new brawl con­sists of 6 play­ers, 5 Mei’s and a Yeti that can uti­lize Win­ston’s abil­i­ties. The Yeti must col­lect meat, so he can unlock a “pow­er­ful rage abil­i­ty adding immu­ni­ty to freeze and more pow­er­ful bonus­es.” The Mei’s must find and elim­i­nate the Yeti before it con­sumes enough meat. The Mei’s also have a brand new tool dur­ing this brawl — the Yeti Trap which is a mod­i­fied ulti­mate ability.

Mei’s Snowball Offensive

Return­ing this year, Mei’s Snow­ball Offen­sive allows Mei’s Endother­mic Blaster to shoot sin­gle, super-pow­ered snow­ball. Tak­ing an oppo­nent out only takes one shot, but miss­ing can be cost­ly. Once your weapon is emp­ty search for the near­est snow pile to reload. Mei’s Ulti­mate, which allows her blaster to turn into an auto­mat­ic snow­ball launch­er, lets you con­tin­u­ous­ly fire at your ene­mies. You can play Mei’s Snow­ball Offen­sive on the Black For­est map as well as Eco­point: Antarctica.

This year, play­ers can look for­ward to over 50 win­ter items, includ­ing skins, emotes, and high­light intros. Some of these are new, while past win­ter items are also back, but with a reduced cred­it cost. You can see all the new items below:
