Blizzard announced the return of Overwatch’s Winter Wonderland event, which has a new brawl (alongside an old one) and plenty of holiday-themed goodies. Black Forest, King’s Row, and Hanamura have also been decked out for the holiday season. Winter Wonderland is a three week long event, starting today and ending January 1st.
Yeti Hunter
This brand new brawl consists of 6 players, 5 Mei’s and a Yeti that can utilize Winston’s abilities. The Yeti must collect meat, so he can unlock a “powerful rage ability adding immunity to freeze and more powerful bonuses.” The Mei’s must find and eliminate the Yeti before it consumes enough meat. The Mei’s also have a brand new tool during this brawl — the Yeti Trap which is a modified ultimate ability.
Mei’s Snowball Offensive
Returning this year, Mei’s Snowball Offensive allows Mei’s Endothermic Blaster to shoot single, super-powered snowball. Taking an opponent out only takes one shot, but missing can be costly. Once your weapon is empty search for the nearest snow pile to reload. Mei’s Ultimate, which allows her blaster to turn into an automatic snowball launcher, lets you continuously fire at your enemies. You can play Mei’s Snowball Offensive on the Black Forest map as well as Ecopoint: Antarctica.
This year, players can look forward to over 50 winter items, including skins, emotes, and highlight intros. Some of these are new, while past winter items are also back, but with a reduced credit cost. You can see all the new items below:
