Overwatch Patch Out Today for PS4 and Xbox One

Bliz­zard launched a new patch to the PS4 and Xbox One for Over­watch today, but it’s not the one play­ers are hop­ing for. It’s sim­ply a patch that fix­es some gen­er­al bugs and a few hero issues, not the update adding Doomfist.

Unfor­tu­nate­ly, this patch does not include him for the con­soles, but is fix­ing mul­ti­ple audio prob­lems. Doom­fist was announced a sev­er­al days ago and has been avail­able to play on PC in the Over­watch Pub­lic Test Region since last week. 

Bliz­zard released a devel­op­er update video where direc­tor Jeff Kaplan explained more about Doom­fist, his char­ac­ter design, his abil­i­ties, and the poten­tial ways to use them. You can see the devel­op­er video below and the full patch notes after that:

 

Over­watch July 11th PS4 & Xbox One Patch Notes

Gen­er­al

  • Fixed a bug that caused some play­ers to lose audio dur­ing the match.
  • Fixed a bug caus­ing the vac­u­um-of-space sound effects from the Hori­zon Lunar Colony menu screen to per­sist even after select­ing a new menu area.

Heroes

  • Fixed a bug that pre­vent­ed Pharah’s “I am the rock­et queen” voice line from play­ing correctly.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Orisa’s ulti­mate to charge while her Super­charg­er was deployed.
