With the recent launch of the Switch, Nintendo’s plans for E3 are a bit more important than previous years.
Just like past years Nintendo will not have a presentation, but will have a presence at E3. Their booth will be focused on Super Mario Odyssey and where it will be playable for the first time. Alongside Mario Odyssey will be Splatoon 2 and Arms. Tournaments for both games will also be held and live streamed to the general public. The Splatoon 2 tournament will be held first on June 13th and an Arms tournament will held the next day on June 14th.
Nintendo will focus on titles that will launch this year rather than future titles. They will outline these games with their “Nintendo Highlights” video. Here is what Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime had to say about Nintendo’s E3 plans:
“Our various E3 activities will showcase the next steps for Nintendo Switch, from a summer of social competitive gaming to a holiday season highlighted by a milestone Mario adventure. With Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3, fans at home can watch in-depth gameplay of Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games launching this year.”
All of Nintendo’s E3 events can be seen on their website, Twitch and YouTube.
