Santa Monica Studios confirmed the release date for God of War, which launches on April 20th. Along with the confirmed date, they also revealed a new story trailer that, “will give you more insight on why Kratos and Atreus are going on their journey as well as provide a glimpse at some new bits of action.”
The studio also announced a new Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as the other special editions and their prices. When pre-ordering any edition of God of War (at a supporting retailer) will include three legendary shield skins:
If you pre-order any edition at GameStop or EB Games, you’ll also receive the Luck of Ages XP Talisman, providing:
- Increase XP gain
- Increase Hacksilver gain
- Increase the ability to trigger Perks

Collector’s Edition
This edition includes a 9″ statute of Kratos and Atreus, a Steelbook Case (which includes the game), two Huldra brothers carvings, exclusive lithograph, a cloth map, along with plenty of digital content. The Collector’s Edition is priced at $129.99 USD/$169.99 CAD.
Stone Mason Edition
Available only in the U.S. and Canada, the Stone Mason Edition includes everything in the Collector’s Edition, but also four distinct items from the game. This edition includes the Stone Mason’s Ring, Mimir’s Head (a talking keychain), and 2″ horse and troll carvings. This edition includes costs $149.99 USD/$199.99 CAD (EB Games Exclusive in Canada).
Digital Deluxe Edition
The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with many digital goodies, including a God of War digital artbook, a God of War Digital Comic (issue #0) a dynamic theme, Death’s Vow Armor set, and Exile’s Guardian Shield. All of these are included in the other editions. However, when you pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition, you will receive a Kratos and Atreus physical pin (U.S. and Canada only). This edition can be purchased for 69.99 USD/$89.99 CAD.
