New Story Trailer & Release Date Confirmed for God of War

San­ta Mon­i­ca Stu­dios con­firmed the release date for God of War, which launch­es on April 20th. Along with the con­firmed date, they also revealed a new sto­ry trail­er that, “will give you more insight on why Kratos and Atreus are going on their jour­ney as well as pro­vide a glimpse at some new bits of action.”

The stu­dio also announced a new Dig­i­tal Deluxe Edi­tion, as well as the oth­er spe­cial edi­tions and their prices. When pre-order­ing any edi­tion of God of War (at a sup­port­ing retail­er) will include three leg­endary shield skins:

If you pre-order any edi­tion at GameStop or EB Games, you’ll also receive the Luck of Ages XP Tal­is­man, providing:

• Increase XP gain
• Increase Hack­sil­ver gain
• Increase the abil­i­ty to trig­ger Perks

 Collector’s Edition

This edi­tion includes a 9″ statute of Kratos and Atreus, a Steel­book Case (which includes the game), two Hul­dra broth­ers carv­ings, exclu­sive lith­o­graph, a cloth map, along with plen­ty of dig­i­tal con­tent. The Col­lec­tor’s Edi­tion is priced at $129.99 USD/$169.99 CAD.

Stone Mason Edition

Avail­able only in the U.S. and Cana­da, the Stone Mason Edi­tion includes every­thing in the Col­lec­tor’s Edi­tion, but also four dis­tinct items from the game. This edi­tion includes the Stone Mason’s Ring, Mimir’s Head (a talk­ing key­chain),  and 2″ horse and troll carv­ings. This edi­tion includes costs $149.99 USD/$199.99 CAD (EB Games Exclu­sive in Canada).

Digital Deluxe Edition

The Dig­i­tal Deluxe Edi­tion comes with many dig­i­tal good­ies, includ­ing a God of War dig­i­tal art­book, a God of War Dig­i­tal Com­ic (issue #0) a dynam­ic theme, Death’s Vow Armor set, and Exile’s Guardian Shield. All of these are includ­ed in the oth­er edi­tions. How­ev­er, when you pre-order the Dig­i­tal Deluxe Edi­tion, you will receive a Kratos and Atreus phys­i­cal pin (U.S. and Cana­da only). This edi­tion can be pur­chased for 69.99 USD/$89.99 CAD.
