Today during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 event Microsoft revealed that some pretty exciting major changes are coming to Minecraft. Coming this fall, what they have titled the “Super Duper Graphics Pack” will bring 4K visuals to Minecraft, and they look great.
Next they are set to introduce new in game servers allowing players to access each one from an easy to use menu, replacing the longer, more complicated method in use now. New servers will be provided by four partners: Lifeboat, InPvP, Mineplex and CubeCraft.
Also announced was Minecraft’s “Better Together” update bringing cross-platform play to Windows 10, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, VR, iOS and Android. Sadly it looks like PlayStation is not included in this amazing new feature.

Minecraft gets its 4k update in the fall to coincide with the Launch of Xbox One X, no word on when the other features will arrive. My guess is around the same time as the Super Duper Graphics Pack.
Other cool Xbox only features include “Minecraft Relms”, a feature that gives players access to subscription based, private, dedicated Mincraft servers for up to 10 people on Xbox One.
