Marvel’s Avengers is launching for everyone tomorrow and it looks like a lot of people are excited for this release. The open beta during the last weekend in August, saw huge download numbers for the PS4 — the biggest in the history of the PS4.

According to a tweet from Square Enix, the Marvel’s Avenger beta was the most downloaded beta ever in PlayStation’s history.

As you can see, the tweet doesn’t provide any numbers, but Gamesradar estimates it at close to 5 million people across PS4, Xbox One and PC. While the figure remains unknown, the numbers likely include people who downloaded the game but never actually played it and combined players from the earlier access beta with the open beta.

Firm numbers on the prior PS4 betas are unknown, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had the biggest beta for a Call of Duty title, and Black Ops III proclaimed to be biggest PS4 beta. Marvel’s Avengers appears to have outperformed both of these games. Square Enix said nothing about the performance of the beta for Xbox One and PC
