Halo 6 will not be at this years E3. This information comes from developer Brian Jarrard who posted the following on Reddit.
“I’ll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We’ve said this already but we’ll have a little something at E3, but it’s not related to the next major entry in the franchise.”
While many fans were hopeful, this isn’t a huge surprise. The Halo series is on a 3 year development cycle and won’t be out until at least 2018. Couple this with Microsoft’s need to show off a wider variety of games to entice gamers and growing trend to announce games close to their launch, it makes sense that Halo would take a backseat. The studio also has seen a bit of a shake up when Halo 4 creative director Josh Holmes left in 2016 and when executive producer Dan Ayoub left this week to work for Microsoft’s Mix Reality Team.
Regardless of speculation there are a few details known about Halo 6. It has already been in the works for over a year, it will have Master Chief as the focus, and will have split screen multiplayer.
