Fol­low­ing Mar­vel’s Avengers, Square Enix con­tin­ues on with Mar­vel and a new game based on Guardians of the Galaxy. As rumors sug­gest­ed, the game is being devel­oped by Eidos Mon­tre­al, the Square Enix-owned stu­dio. Guardians of the Galaxy is releas­ing on Octo­ber 26th for PlaySta­tion 5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Guardians of the Galaxy seems to have a mix of char­ac­ter-dri­ven comedic relief and com­bat that allows brings the team togeth­er to defeat your ene­mies. There will also be sto­ry choic­es along the jour­ney, which the oth­er Guardians will react to.

Edios Mon­tre­al revealed the Guardians of the Galaxy title dur­ing Square Enix’s show­case at E3 2021. The reveal cap­tured the same humor the Guardians movies, while pro­vid­ing a look at who you’ll be fight along­side, includ­ing: Gamo­ra, Draxx, Rock­et, and Groot. 

You play as Peter Quill, bet­ter known as Star-Lord, who serves as leader of the Guardians. What you choose affects your rela­tion­ships with the rest of the crew, so think about the con­se­quences of your actions.

The reveal also showed the typ­i­cal over-the-top action Guardians fans have become accus­tom to. You may play as Star-Lord in com­bat, but work­ing togeth­er with your AI-con­trolled Guardians is key–with plen­ty of oppor­tu­ni­ties for fun destruc­tion asso­ci­at­ed with the characters.
