Godfall, the PlayStation 5 launch title, will be getting a big update in the future that will bring matchmaking to the game for the first time. Counterplay Games, the studio behind the game, made the announcement on Twitter, saying they heard their fans loud and clear–they want matchmaking, and they are getting it.
“As we continue to monitor and implement changes based on your feedback, one thing was very clear.… We are excited to announce that we are working toward implementing matchmaking into Godfall,” the studio said.
More details will be announced over the next coming months, likely when the time get closer for matchmaking to be released. Currently, the only way to play online co-op is is through directly inviting friends to matches over PSN or the Epic Games client.
Godfall may also be releasing on other platforms soon. The trailer shows a fine print that states the game will be a PS5 console exclusive until May 12th, 2021. It’s entirely within the realm of possibility that Godfall could be releasing on other platforms, and maybe even around the same time as matchmaking enters the picture.
