Fallout 76 Has Been Announced, Here Is What We Know + Some Rumors

Bethes­da has announced a new Fall­out game and it seems like it is a new type of Fall­out expe­ri­ence. Titled Fall­out 76, this lat­est entry in to the series looks like it is a pre­quel to the oth­er Fall­out games. 

Fall­out 76 will involve vault 76, this isn’t the first time vault 76 has been men­tioned, both Fall­out 3 and Fall­out 4 ref­er­ence it. You can check out the Fall­out Wikia for more infor­ma­tion on the lore behind vault 76.

Fall­out 76 takes place in the year 2102 (accord­ing to the year dis­played on the Pip­boy in the trail­er), 59 years before the events in Fall­out and 175 years before the event in Fall­out 3. That makes this game set far ear­li­er than any oth­er Fall­out title.

The trail­er fea­tures Recla­ma­tion Day, while what Recla­ma­tion Day is exact­ly is yet to be explained, it looks like it is sup­posed to be the day the vault opens up and the vault dwellers move out in to the world and start rebuilding.

No details on what the game play of Fall­out 76 will be like yet, Bethes­da says they will have more infor­ma­tion dur­ing their upcom­ing July 10th E3 showcase. 

Rumors are point­ing to Fall­out 76 being a Rust like sur­vival, build­ing, mul­ti­play­er. While these are rumors for now, Jason Schreier from Kotaku claim they have sources say­ing Fall­out 76 is “Fall­out 76 is in fact an online sur­vival RPG that’s heav­i­ly inspired by games like DayZ and Rust”. You can read more about that at the link pro­vid­ed above.

Bethes­da did con­firm that Fall­out 76 will be avail­able on PC, Playsta­tion 4 and Xbox One, but did not con­firm a release date as of the time of this writing.
