Call of Duty: Mod­ern War­fare wel­comed a new patch, adding a must request­ed fea­ture for PC users: the abil­i­ty to unin­stall por­tions of the game. It also includ­ed a new shot­gun for all players.

Mod­ern War­fare’s file size has exceed­ed 200 GB after some recent updates were pushed out. Many play­ers don’t come back to the sin­gle play­er of any COD after the first playthrough, so being able to unin­stall this is a great space saver. Con­sole play­ers have had this options for some time now, but is only avail­able for dig­i­tal own­ers on the PS4.

Along­side the PC fea­ture, Infin­i­ty Ward added a new shot­gun, the Jak-12. The new weapon was not men­tioned in the patch notes, but it can be used in tra­di­tion­al mul­ti­play­er or War­zone. You can take a look at the shot­gun below:

As usu­al, the mul­ti­play­er playlist has been refreshed, with HQ Fire­fight mak­ing its way to the fea­tured playlist. In this mode, you score by get­ting kills and cap­tur­ing oppos­ing team’s head­quar­ters. For War­zone, the update removes Blood Mon­ey Quads and adds Plun­der Quads back to the playlist. 

This patch also had some minor adjust­ments, like slight­ly boost­ing the dam­age of the Kar98 in War­zone. It also decreas­es the dam­age of the SP‑R sniper rifle, which was pre­vi­ous­ly nerfed by a dif­fer­ent patch. You can see the full patch notes from the new update below:

  • If a play­er dies post doors clos­ing of the sub­way car, they will be pulled out of gulag by the fast trav­el sys­tem and then pulled back into gulag for a match once it is their turn. This has been fixed
  • Fix for an issue where the play­er’s view could be forcibly moved when exit­ing a vehi­cle or parachuting
  • Fixed a bug where play­ers could expe­ri­ence a crash after engag­ing with a Boun­ty contract
