Tre­yarch has so much new con­tent for their mid-sea­son update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There is new Mul­ti­play­er and Zom­bies con­tent, new fea­tures, new Prop Hunt maps and new ways to play Black Ops Cold War. There was also a rather large set of patch notes that includ­ed a bunch of weapon balancing.

Multiplayer

There are sev­er­al new maps and a cou­ple new modes to play this mid-sea­son. While they may be live right now, it’s like­ly they will be on rota­tion after this week. The first map on the list is Mia­mi Strike, a re-envi­sion of the orig­i­nal Mia­mi map. It’s a close-quar­ters map that is now a bask­ing in the sun com­pared to the original.

Right now, Mia­mi Strike is on a 24/7 playlist, fea­tur­ing a mix of TDM, Dom­i­na­tion, Kill Con­firmed, and Hard­point modes.

Man­sion

Face Off and Gun­fight modes have also received a new map this mid-sea­son. Man­sion is a Cuban com­pound with a lot of con­flict cen­tered in the court­yard or pow­er posi­tions from above. 

Golo­va

This map is no nec­es­sar­i­ly new, but has now joined the map rota­tion in Black Ops Cold War’s biggest Mul­ti­play­er bat­tles. The new Mul­ti-Team playlists pins 40 play­ers against each oth­er in Hardpoint.

This new large-scale Mul­ti-Team Hard­point mode drops ten teams of four into the biggest maps in the game to fight con­trol of mul­ti­ple Har­points at a time. Each Hard­point lasts 120 sec­onds before rotat­ing to the next loca­tion, and unlike oth­er Hard­point modes, your team will earn 1 point each sec­ond for all team­mates inside the Hard­point. The first team to reach 1,000 points wins.

Prop Hunt Maps + Props

Prop Hunt has returned with two addi­tion­al maps join­ing rota­tion: Mia­mi Strike and Satel­lite. Tre­yarch also refreshed the prop selec­tion for most of the exist­ing maps.

Zombies

The Tre­yarch team has added a mas­sive night­time region to Out­break called Sana­to­ri­um, a new Secure Objec­tive, new in-game intel, a new Dirt Bike vehi­cle, and plen­ty more secrets for play­ers to find.

Play­ers can now earn play­er XP and Bat­tle Pass XP in Dead Ops Arcade 3, so you can progress towards Pres­tige Mas­ter and 100 Bat­tle Pass Tier while fight­ing the Mam­aback. Tre­yarch also added a new Sil­ver­back Slide­ways bonus map.

Onslaught LTM + Con­tent (PS4/PS5)**

PlaySta­tion users can now take on the new Con­tain­ment lim­it­ed-time mode in Onslaught for a new expe­ri­ence on the game’s Gun­fight maps, along­side a new Blue­print Chal­lenge to earn the exclu­sive “Jun­gle Fight­er” tac­ti­cal rifle Blueprint.

Onslaught will also receive a bunch of new item drops, includ­ing Lev­el 2 and Lev­el 3 Armor, Ammo Mods and Aether Tool drops to upgrade weapons. There’s also new Bronze, Sil­ver, and Gold Chal­ice drops that will allow play­ers to Pack-a-Punch a weapon for the first time in Onslaught.

Blue­print Support

Play­ers will now be able to apply any Weapon Blue­print they own to their weapon in the Pause menu in Zom­bies. This includes any weapon picked up or pur­chased from the wall.

Lat­er this sea­son, Tre­yarch is plan­ning to intro­duce Gun­smith Cus­toms so play­ers can cre­ate their own cus­tom blue­prints. Gun­fight Tour­na­ments will also be released and a new weapon will also be released: the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle.
