Treyarch has so much new content for their mid-season update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There is new Multiplayer and Zombies content, new features, new Prop Hunt maps and new ways to play Black Ops Cold War. There was also a rather large set of patch notes that included a bunch of weapon balancing.
There are several new maps and a couple new modes to play this mid-season. While they may be live right now, it’s likely they will be on rotation after this week. The first map on the list is Miami Strike, a re-envision of the original Miami map. It’s a close-quarters map that is now a basking in the sun compared to the original.
Right now, Miami Strike is on a 24/7 playlist, featuring a mix of TDM, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint modes.
Face Off and Gunfight modes have also received a new map this mid-season. Mansion is a Cuban compound with a lot of conflict centered in the courtyard or power positions from above.
This map is no necessarily new, but has now joined the map rotation in Black Ops Cold War’s biggest Multiplayer battles. The new Multi-Team playlists pins 40 players against each other in Hardpoint.
This new large-scale Multi-Team Hardpoint mode drops ten teams of four into the biggest maps in the game to fight control of multiple Harpoints at a time. Each Hardpoint lasts 120 seconds before rotating to the next location, and unlike other Hardpoint modes, your team will earn 1 point each second for all teammates inside the Hardpoint. The first team to reach 1,000 points wins.
Prop Hunt Maps + Props
Prop Hunt has returned with two additional maps joining rotation: Miami Strike and Satellite. Treyarch also refreshed the prop selection for most of the existing maps.
New Outbreak Content
The Treyarch team has added a massive nighttime region to Outbreak called Sanatorium, a new Secure Objective, new in-game intel, a new Dirt Bike vehicle, and plenty more secrets for players to find.
Black Ops Arcade 3 Updates
Players can now earn player XP and Battle Pass XP in Dead Ops Arcade 3, so you can progress towards Prestige Master and 100 Battle Pass Tier while fighting the Mamaback. Treyarch also added a new Silverback Slideways bonus map.
Onslaught LTM + Content (PS4/PS5)**
PlayStation users can now take on the new Containment limited-time mode in Onslaught for a new experience on the game’s Gunfight maps, alongside a new Blueprint Challenge to earn the exclusive “Jungle Fighter” tactical rifle Blueprint.
Onslaught will also receive a bunch of new item drops, including Level 2 and Level 3 Armor, Ammo Mods and Aether Tool drops to upgrade weapons. There’s also new Bronze, Silver, and Gold Chalice drops that will allow players to Pack-a-Punch a weapon for the first time in Onslaught.
Players will now be able to apply any Weapon Blueprint they own to their weapon in the Pause menu in Zombies. This includes any weapon picked up or purchased from the wall.
More to Come
Later this season, Treyarch is planning to introduce Gunsmith Customs so players can create their own custom blueprints. Gunfight Tournaments will also be released and a new weapon will also be released: the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle.
