Bandai Namco Announces Game Based On Little Witch Academia Anime

This week­end at Ani­me Expo Bandai Nam­co announced a video game based on Lit­tle Witch Academia. 

Lit­tle Witch Acad­e­mia: Cham­ber of Time will be a side scrolling beat’em up RPG and will have a sep­a­rate sto­ry from the short movies and ani­me. Regard­less many of the char­ac­ters estab­lished in the Ani­me will appear in the game. 

Here is the sto­ry sum­ma­ry giv­en by Bandai Namco:

“Having been inspired by a famous witch named Shiny Chariot, an ordinary girl named Atsuko “Akko” Kagari enrolls at Luna Nova Magical Academy — a prestigious school for young girls training to become witches. The school will change Akko life and she will meet new friends that will be part of her life and adventure. While the summer holidays are approaching the witches face an inexplicable phenomenon in the Luna Nova caused by Seven wonders which has been passed down for several centuries. This will lead them to an adventure to unravel the seven wonders and that will change their lives.”

Along­side the announce­ment an Eng­lish trail­er was released that show­cas­es some gameplay. 

Lit­tle Witch Acad­e­mia orig­i­nal­ly began as a short film by Stu­dio Trig­ger in 2013. Two years lat­er a sec­ond short film was then par­tial­ly fund­ed through kick­starter, receiv­ing four times its ini­tial goal. This year an ani­me series was released and recent­ly became avail­able world­wide through Netflix.

Lit­tle Witch Acad­e­mia: Cham­ber of Time launch­es ear­ly 2018 for PS4 and PC in North Amer­i­ca and Europe. A Japan­ese release is planned for Novem­ber 30th along with a spe­cial lim­it­ed edition.
