Playtonic has announced that Yooka-Laylee will have competitive local multiplayer. There will be a total of 8 arcade games. Not all the game modes have been named, but so far there is “arena brawler Glaciators, old-school racer Kartos Karting and the friendship-destroying Jobstacle Course”.
Alongside competitive multiplayer, there will be co-op for the main game. A second player will take control of the Bee Team and play alongside the main characters. The exact extent of play is unknown however Playtonic states that player two will be able to “grab quills, collect and store butterflies, stop traps and more”.
Yooka-Laylee launches April 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
