Xbox Game Pass Has Hit The 25 Million Subscriber Milestone

Microsoft has announced that its Xbox Game Pass sub­scrip­tion ser­vice has more than 25 mil­lion sub­scribers glob­al­ly. Since it appears Activi­sion Bliz­zard will be join­ing the Xbox fam­i­ly, Microsoft is no doubt prepar­ing to expand the Game Pass library with a num­ber of games from the acqui­si­tion’s catalog.

“We also announced today that Game Pass now has more than 25 mil­lion sub­scribers,” Microsoft said in the announce­ment. “As always, we look for­ward to con­tin­u­ing to add more val­ue and more great games to Game Pass.”

“We will offer as many Activi­sion Bliz­zard games as we can with­in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, both new titles and games from Activi­sion Bliz­zard’s incred­i­ble cat­a­log,” Microsoft continued.

Even with the cur­rent, close to $70 bil­lion, buy­out loom­ing over­head, Activi­sion Bliz­zard will oper­ate inde­pen­dent­ly until every­thing is final­ized. The Activi­sion Bliz­zard team will report direct­ly to Phil Spencer (Microsoft Gam­ing CEO), and Bob­by Kotick will remain in his cur­rent position. 

As for Game Pass itself, it just keeps get­ting bet­ter. A cou­ple of big games were added dur­ing the beg­ging of this month, and the sec­ond half of Jan­u­ary is bring­ing a few more titles that are heavy hitters.
