Microsoft has announced that its Xbox Game Pass subscription service has more than 25 million subscribers globally. Since it appears Activision Blizzard will be joining the Xbox family, Microsoft is no doubt preparing to expand the Game Pass library with a number of games from the acquisition’s catalog.
“We also announced today that Game Pass now has more than 25 million subscribers,” Microsoft said in the announcement. “As always, we look forward to continuing to add more value and more great games to Game Pass.”
“We will offer as many Activision Blizzard games as we can within Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, both new titles and games from Activision Blizzard’s incredible catalog,” Microsoft continued.
Even with the current, close to $70 billion, buyout looming overhead, Activision Blizzard will operate independently until everything is finalized. The Activision Blizzard team will report directly to Phil Spencer (Microsoft Gaming CEO), and Bobby Kotick will remain in his current position.
As for Game Pass itself, it just keeps getting better. A couple of big games were added during the begging of this month, and the second half of January is bringing a few more titles that are heavy hitters.
