Gamescom starts later this month, and Xbox has confirmed they’ll be a part of the show. This year will be another all-digital showcase event, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and Xbox says it will provide in-depth updates on previously announced Xbox Game Studios titles alongside third-party partner announcements.
Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg added that there stream will be focused only on upcoming games. “So to set expectations, no new reveals or major surprises, but [the] team has a fun stream planned,” Greenberg tweeted.
Additionally, Xbox teased that August 25th’s Gamescom: Opening Night Live will also feature some of its games during the Geoff Keighley-hosted show.
As for Bethesda’s studios, the publisher will host its own livestream event over several days which will start on August 26th. To celebrate Gamescom 2021, Microsoft will have a digital Xbox sale with some game discounted up to 75% on console and PC.
Other confirmed publishers for Gamescom this year includes, EA, Sega, and Activision–so far. It was originally planned to be a mix of in-person events and digital livestreams, but with the second year of coronavirus restrictions, it was switched to an all-digital experience.
