The Strong Museum in Rochester, New York has announced 12 finalists for this year’s class in the World Video Game Hall of Fame, and it includes some heavy hitters.

The twelve games that will be nominated include: Animal Crossing, Call of Duty, FarmVille, FIFA International Soccer, Guitar Hero, Mattel Football, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Pole Position, StarCraft, Tron, and Where in the World is Carmen Sand Diego?

In order to make this list, a game must have “enjoyed popularity over a sustained period and have exerted influence on the video game industry or on popular culture and society in general.” It will be interesting, to say the least, which games will end up being inducted into the hall on May 6th.

In 2020, the four inductees included Bejeweled, Centipede, Minecraft, and King’s Quest. Anyone can nominate a game for future inductions, if you feel it deserves to be added to the Hall of Fame.

The World Video Game Hall of Fame opened at Strong Museum in 2015, with the goal of honoring the most influential games in the industry.
