With all of these great games launching relatively around the same time, it is honestly a surprise that so many people jumped back on the Call of Duty band wagon. Last week was enough of a surprise, when Assassin’s Creed Origins beat out Super Mario Odyssey.
However, this week, Origins still managed to stay right under the nose of Call of Duty: WWΙΙ in the number two spot. Super Mario Odyssey dropped a few places from last week, despite all the praise it received. It now sits in fourth place. FIFA 18 is holding steady in third, which it hasn’t budged from in a couple of weeks. Wolfenstein ΙΙ: The New Colossus got knocked out of the top five by Gran Turismo Sport this week, which stands at fifth.
One very obvious elephant in the room, is the catastrophic problems that plagued Call of Duty: WWΙΙ’s launch. It would be of no surprise if that would seriously affect any purchases players made in the future. It wouldn’t be shocking to see the game come off the number one spot, shortly after launch because of its connectivity issues. Even if it did outsell Infinite Warfare (which couldn’t have been hard).
