The year that was 2020 is finally over, but before this year officially started, Animal Crossing: New Horizons moved its way back into first place. It moved up from third from the weeks prior, overtaking the previous number one contender, FIFA 21.

EA’s yearly FIFA title didn’t go very far, landing second on the last day of 2020. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also moved up, currently holding third. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla dropped a couple of spaces, from second to fourth. Just Dance 2021 finishes out the top five, coming up a couple of places from its previous position.

Nintendo is doing really well, with ten of the top 20 being games for the Nintendo Switch. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is no longer breaching the top five, which is extremely odd for a Call of Duty title. Cyberpunk 2077 has seen the biggest drop within the last three weeks. It went from number one to eighth, and is now sitting in 15th.
