Nintendo continues to be a powerhouse into the 2021 year, with nearly half of the top twenty games in the U.K. sales chart being published by the company. Animal Cross: New Horizons is their best-seller, remaining in first place for its third week in a row — coming back to that position after a short hiatus.
Another one of Nintendo’s games holds second and has also stayed in that spot for quite some time, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2021 has also maintained its third place position for another week. Grand Theft Auto V has seen a large leap from last week, going from eighth to fourth and finally breaching the top five after nearly six months. Minecraft also moved up a couple of spaces, from seventh to fifth.
A couple of these games in the chart have seen mini and huge declines in their placement, as well as major jumps. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla dropped six places, going from fifth to 11th. Super Mario Party jumped up eight spots, coming from below 20th, to 17th. FIFA 21, which typically does well, fell from fourth to sixth. Ring Fit Adventure also fell four positions, going from sixth to tenth.
