Activision has announced that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and the Nintendo Switch later this year. No exact release date has been given for the Switch version but the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will be available on March 26th 2021.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will feature quite a few upgrades from the previous gen version. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will feature improved resolution, spatial audio, high-fidelity atmospherics, and much more. PS5 and Xbox Series X users will be able to skate in 120 fps at 1080 and 60 fps at 4k while the Xbox Series S version will render at 1440p and upscale to 4k. The Switch wont feature these graphical upgrades or high framerates but will be portable and can be played anywhere.
If you have already purchased a copy of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 on the PS4 or Xbox One you will be able to upgrade your copy to the next gen version free in your console’s software store. A Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle is also available costing $10 more but come with both the last gen and next gen versions, great for people who own multiple consoles and have not already bought the game. The Cross Gen Deluxe Bundle also comes with a new skater named Ripper. It also includesetro gear for the Create-A-Skater mode and retro skins for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Rudney Mullen. Activision has posted an FAQ here if you have some questions about the upgrade process.
