The Witcher 3’s PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will launch in Q4 2022, as confirmed by CD Projekt Red. For those unaware, this means the upgrade will launch in the October-December time period.
The new-gen versions were delayed indefinitely back in April of this year. CD Projekt delayed the game because they were shifting development of the project from Russia’s Saber Interactive team to CD Projekt Red itself.
CD Projekt condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and subsequently suspended its sales and services in the country. It’s unknown if the invasion has anything to do with the shift in development.
Players have been waiting for the upgraded versions of The Witcher 3 for quite some time, as the game was originally expected to release in 2021. Anyone who has already bought The Witcher 3 gets the upgrade for free, including the DLC content.
