Yesterday was a crazy day for fans of PlayStation, with the next-generation console’s appearance finally being shown. Right at the beginning of the reveal event, Sony revealed what appeared to be a sequel to Insomniac’s Spider-Man.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. After the event, a Sony exec stated the game was just an expansion of the original game and is being enhanced for the PS5. However, Insomniac Games said otherwise.

According to Insomniac’s Twitter account, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a standalone game, which they will give more details about in the future.

Jason Schreier, a reporter for Bloomberg, made it extremely clear in a post that this game was not an expansion, but a standalone akin to Uncharted Lost Legacy. Schreier mentioned the Sony executive, vice president Simon Rutter, caused confusion among fans by saying it was “an expansion and an enhancement to the previous title.”

If Spider-Man: Miles Morales is anything like Uncharted Lost Legacy, it will likely be sold for $40 instead of the standard $60 for a full fledged title.
