The Division 2: What We Know So Far

Ubisoft­’s E3 con­fer­ence includ­ed plen­ty of new infor­ma­tion regard­ing The Divi­sion 2. Yes­ter­day a play through was revealed dur­ing Microsoft­’s E3 show. Today they revealed a cin­e­mat­ic trail­er, as well as a release date.

The Divi­sion 2’s Expansions

Ubisoft sur­prised every­one by announc­ing what they had planned for The Divi­sion 2’s first year. It shows a time­line of title updates, world events, and expan­sions. The expan­sions are being called “episodes”, and will be free to everyone. 

 Specializations

Upon reach­ing the end of the cam­paign, play­ers will be allowed to choose a Spe­cial­iza­tion class. Each of these class­es has a dif­fer­ent weapon asso­ci­at­ed with it, includ­ing a cross­bow, grenade launch­er, and sniper rifle. How­ev­er, you won’t be lim­it­ed to one Spe­cial­iza­tion. Ful­ly lev­el­ing up one Spe­cial­iza­tion will grant access to another. 

Raids 

This is a first for The Divi­sion, but is not new to the gam­ing com­mu­ni­ty. It’s part of the end game activ­i­ties and con­sists of eight play­ers, in two teams of four. It’ll most like­ly feel sim­i­lar to Des­tiny’s raids.

Ubisoft also announced The Divi­sion 2’s release date, March 15th, 2019. How­ev­er, you can cur­rent­ly sigh up for a beta, on the games offi­cial web­site. Just as a reminder, sign­ing up does­n’t guar­an­tee your entry.
