Street Fighter 6 Officially Revealed, Trailer Shown

Capcom has officially announced Street Fighter 6, the next entry in the popular fighting series. A teaser trailer shows Ryu preparing to fight Luke, a DLC character from Street Fighter V. There is also a rather strange close-up shot of feet, for some reason.

HERE COMES A NEW STREET FIGHTER,” Capcom stated in its all-caps announcement post. More news about the game will be unveiled during this summer. Capcom has not announced platforms or a release date for Street Fighter 6, and no one know what gameplay changes or improvements can be expected.

Street Fighter V was released in February 2016, so it just recently passed its sixth year anniversary. The game has sold more than 6 million copies.

Capcom veteran and Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono recently left the company, so Street Fighter 6 will be produced without his involvement–making it a big change for the franchise.

On top of the announcement for the new Street Fighter, Capcom also revealed the Capcom Fighting Collection, which includes 10 classic fighting games. It releases June 24th for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
