State of Decay 2’s upcoming Update 25: Plague Territory, will go live tomorrow on Monday, June 21st. Developer Undead Labs showed a short video on Twitter which teased the update’s main addition, Plague Territories. These are regions controlled by Plague Hearts that can’t be inhabited until the Hearts are destroyed.

Plague Territories have been a part of the play testing beta on Steam since last April. Undead Labs has yet to release the full patch notes for Update 25, so it’s unknown what the rest of the update contains. However, other features in the beta might give some hints. Landmark Outposts offer players one of three options, depending on what the landmark is. Resource Outposts produce food, ammo, or other forms of resources, and will also get the ability to get upgraded to increase its benefits.

These new features can’t be applied to existing maps, so players should either load a new map or change the difficulty on a current map to receive the Plague Territories. While only the Plague Territories were confirmed for Update 25, hopefully more will be known tomorrow when the update launches.
