With the PS5 releasing shortly, there has been some confusion on what games saves can be carried over when moving from the PS4. Well, Insomniac Games has cleared that up in regards to Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If you start the game on PS4 you will be able to keep playing if you switch to the PS5.

The studio responded to a player’s request on Twitter, confirming that you can transfer your save data from PS4 to PS5. Even if you can’t get a PS5 right away, Spider-Man: Miles Morales does have cross-generational upgrading for free.

However, Spider-Man: Remastered (coming with the Ultimate Edition) will not have save transfer, so you’ll have to start from scratch. Spider-Man: Remastered is also not planned as a standalone release. Although, if you buy Miles Morales and later decide you want the remastered game, you can purchase it later for $20 as a DLC.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches alongside the PS5 on November 12th. The game will be available for both PS4 and PS5 on the same day. Spider-Man: Miles Morales preorders are live right now.
