People looking forward to playing The Last of Us II or the Final Fantasy VII Remake, will be sorely disappointed. Sony pulled out of the PAX East show, giving a statement for their absence in a PlayStation Blog update.

Sony Will Not Be Attending PAX East This Year

UPDATE: Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as “novel coronavirus”). We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern.

Multiple PlayStation titles were supposed to be available for people to try out, and there was some hope more information about anything PlayStation related would come to light.

Hopes have been dashed however, as it seems there will be no demos or information coming from Sony for quite some time.
