Announced on PlayStation’s blog today, Rebellion (creators of Sniper Elite) revealed its upcoming content for the newly released game.
The Deathstorm update will be arriving next week on March 21st. It includes Part 1 of a three part mini-campaign and a free multiplayer content update as well.
Deathstorm
This is a completely new storyline, which is set after the events of Sniper Elite 4. Like the main game, you can play this content single-player or two-player cooperatively.
The Alsos Mission, which is an offshoot of the US Manhattan Project (famous for its research and development with nuclear weapons) requires Karl Fairburne to intercept a crucial package the Nazis are bringing into the country.… scary stuff.
Deathstorm Part 1: Inception, will challenge the player with numerous objectives across a massive environment. Towering scaffolding, a massive German destroyer, and a warehouse filled with enemy soldiers, that is just the base of why the Karl is there. Along with recovering this package, he is also aiming to complete what the bombing run started and destroy the base entirely.
It comes with the season pass or can be purchased separately.
Multiplayer Update
Rebellion “pledged to bring all additional multiplayer modes and maps to the game free” and it appears they are keeping to their word. This is the first of their free multiplayer content and includes a new game mode called Elimination.
It’s a two-team mode for up to 12 players which aims to cut your opponent’s numbers down to zero. When you die in Elimination you become a spectator, but it’s not completely permanent. If/when your teammates kill an opposing player, they tag back in one of their dead comrades.
There will also be a new map coming next week, title Night Woods. A screenshot is below:
