As unfor­tu­nate as it may be, Sea­son One of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and War­zone has been delayed. Orig­i­nal­ly sched­uled to launch on Decem­ber 10th, it will now arrive a lit­tle less than a week lat­er on Decem­ber 16th. No rea­son for the delay was giv­en. As expect­ed, it will be the biggest con­tent update for the game to date, includ­ing a bunch of free good­ies to try across both titles.

Season One of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Has Been Delayed

Black Ops Cold War will receive plen­ty of new mul­ti­play­er con­tent, which includes maps, Gun­fight (the mode from Call of Duty: Mod­ern War­fare) and the Raid map for Fireteam — this is based of the map from Black Ops 2. 

Zom­bies is also get­ting more modes and chal­lenges, along with a sea­son­al pres­tige sys­tem that is cross-title — mean­ing your progress will like­ly car­ry over to into the next Call of Duty game. 

For War­zone, bat­tle royale play­ers will get the 30 weapons from Black Ops Cold War, includ­ing their Blue­print ver­sions. There will also be a brand new map and mode. There is also some sort of new mys­tery “Gulag expe­ri­ence”, so being knocked out of a match might look a bit different. 

Tre­yarch also recent­ly promised anoth­er wave of dou­ble XP dur­ing Decem­ber, which they are mak­ing good on. Start­ing Decem­ber 12th and run­ning through until the start of Sea­son One, play­ers will get dou­ble XP and weapons XP, as well as two free pre-sea­son bun­dles. All you have to do is log on between Decem­ber 8th and Decem­ber 15th to get them, which con­tain thing like oper­a­tor skins, weapon blue­prints, ret­i­cles and call­ing cards.
