RWBY: Grimm Eclipse let’s players take control of the characters from the animated web series of the same name. Up to four people can play together through a story campaign or a horde mode. Combat is described as fast paced like the Dynasty Warriors series with “team play elements from Left 4 Dead”. The story is entirely new and takes place between seasons 2 and 3 of the show.
On Steam the game has received mostly positive reviews overall. Most of the positive reviews highlight the ability to play with friends, the simple yet fun combat and casual friendly gameplay. Despite the positive reviews, the most helpful reviews in the past 30 days are mostly negative. These reviews mostly highlight how repetitive the combat and enemies are, the short campaign and lackluster story.
Of course you can find out yourself whether you like the game when RWBY: Grimm Eclipse launches January 17 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
