After months of leaks and whispers, Ubisoft has finally revealed the official new name for the formerly known Rainbow Six Quarantine. It’s now titled Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction.
Ubisoft released a new video ahead of E3 2021, with producer Antonie Vimal du Monteil officially revealing the game’s new name. A bit of information on what fans can expect from the shooter was also included in the video.
“Since announcement, the game has grown a lot,” Monteil says in a teaser trailer announcing the game’s new official title. “As it evolved, the heart of the experience became clearer and clearer–operators uniting against a common enemy, learning about the parasite, how to overcome it, and protecting each other every step of the way.”
Creative director Patrick Methé says players will always be dealing with an “evolving alien threat” and will have “plenty of challenges to overcome.” Methé went on to add that it will be up to players to decide when to push forward or when to extract, teasing that “extraction is truly the name of the game.” Obviously.
Ubisoft had previously stated that “Quarantine” was simply an internal placeholder name, and one that would be changing since the COVID-19 pandemic which forced millions of people around the world into quarantine.
