Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown — First New Title For The Series In 13 Years

Although it’s not the Prince of Persia: Sands Of Time remake fans have been looking forward too, Ubisoft just showed off a new title for the series called Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, and brings back the series’ origins as a 2D adventure game. It will launch January 18th, 2024.

The game is unrelated to delayed remake, which was hit by a number of delays since its announcement in September of 2020. In May 2023, Ubisoft confirmed the game would not appear during the June Summer Game Fest, as it was “still in an early stage.”

The original Prince of Persia was a 2D platform adventure game first released on the Apple II in 1989. It was followed by two sequels–Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and The Flame in 1993 and Prince of Persia 3D in 1999.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is scheduled to launch on January 18th, 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
