The Gen 4 remakes were ini­tial­ly shown dur­ing Poké­mon’s 25th-anniver­sary stream back in Feb­ru­ary. Both titles are not being devel­oped by Game Freak but Ilca, the same com­pa­ny that worked on Poké­mon Home. How­ev­er, Game Freak’s Junichi Masu­da, who direct­ed the orig­i­nal games, is com­ing back as direc­tor on the remakes. 

The remakes apply are more cuter art style, where the char­ac­ters have small frames and over­sized heads. Although when bat­tling Poké­mon, train­ers will appear in a more real­is­tic form. Both titles are keep­ing the top-down per­spec­tive and, accord­ing to Nin­ten­do, are “faith­ful remakes” of the 2007 games. They have “the sense of scale of the orig­i­nal games’ towns and routes has been care­ful­ly preserved.”
