PlayStation’s Haven Studio Reveals First Title, Multiplayer Game From Former Assassin’s Creed Boss

Sony began its PlaySta­tion Show­case by announc­ing a new title from for­mer Assas­s­in’s Creed boss, Jade Ray­mond, and the team over at PlaySta­tions stu­dio, Haven. The game is called Fairgame$, and it appears to be a heist-themed mul­ti­play­er action title.

No release date of any kind was giv­en in the trail­er, but Fairgames is head­ing to PlaySta­tion 5 and PC. 

“We found­ed Haven with the goal of mak­ing the kind of games we all love to play. As huge fans of com­pet­i­tive mul­ti­play­er expe­ri­ences, Fairgame$ came from a desire to cre­ate a new type of PvP game with emer­gent sand­box game­play. We want to deliv­er a fresh mul­ti­play­er expe­ri­ence that rewards cre­ativ­i­ty and mas­tery and deliv­ers sur­pris­ing sto­ries each and every time you play,” cre­ative direc­tor Math­ieu Leduc said in a blog post.

“In a nut­shell, this is a thrilling com­pet­i­tive heist game where you join an under­ground move­ment to rob the ultra-rich and rebal­ance the scales,” Leduc said.

Sony has been invest­ing heav­i­ly in the live-ser­vice mar­ket, so it’s not sur­pris­ing to see a live-ser­vice game among the PlaySta­tion Show­case line­up. The gam­ing giant plans to have 12 live-ser­vice games com­ing in the next few years.

Haven was acquired by Sony last year, with PlaySta­tion’s Her­man Hulst stat­ing the com­pa­ny was “inspired by Haven’s vision for cre­at­ing a mod­ern mul­ti­play­er expe­ri­ence that brings gamers togeth­er in pos­i­tive and mean­ing­ful ways,” con­fi­dent the stu­dio can deliv­er on such an ambi­tious project.
