PlayStation Store’s Top Selling Games For March

Sony has released a list of its top sell­ing games on the PlaySta­tion Store for the month of March. Nat­u­ral­ly these are dig­i­tal sales only and do not include any phys­i­cal copies sold. 

Tom Clan­cy’s Ghost Recon Wild­lands takes the num­ber one spot on PS4, Hori­zon Zero Dawn fol­lowed close behind and Mass Effect: Androm­e­da took 3rd. The results are a bit of a sur­prise as Ghost Recon Wild­lands has­n’t received much atten­tion from gam­ing media. Mass Effect: Androm­e­da tak­ing 3rd is a bit unex­pect­ed as it received heavy crit­i­cism online for var­i­ous aspects of its writ­ing, ani­ma­tion and game pacing. 

PS4 DLC sales are more in line with typ­i­cal expec­ta­tions. The Call of Duty series took 4 of the top 10 spots show­ing that despite neg­a­tive recep­tion the series still makes plen­ty of mon­ey.  Oth­er mul­ti­play­er games make up most of the list and con­sist of the usu­al Bat­tle­field, Rock­et League, Elder Scrolls Online, and Drag­on Ball Xen­o­verse. The one excep­tion is the final entry in the Dark Souls series Dark Souls III: The Ringed City as the 4th most sold game.
