Revealed today on PlayStation’s blog, Blowfish Studios announced its pixel art game, The Deer God, will soon be available for PlayStation users.
If you have never heard of this game, it is pixel art but set in a 3D world. Apparently, it also has an “amazing soundtrack.” It is a platformer where you cross various landscapes doing story related quests and battle huge animal bosses. There are also a variety of powers for your “magical antlers” (that’s hilarious) to use on your enemies.
Ben Lee from Blowfish Studios had an inspiring message regarding The Deer God:
The game is very much inspired by things that we loved growing up (not just video games). Being outside in the woods, building forts, seeing deer standing motionless in the forest and chasing after them. Building bows and arrows, pretending to hunt. We miss those days, but the feeling is here, inside of this game.
The Deer God was released for Xbox One and PC back in 2015, but according to Lee this version is the most refined of them all, with “extra polishes and fixes since the original launch.” Lee also states he believes this game is a much better fit for the PS Vita. Would make sense, considering it is a sidescroller platformer.
The Deer God will be arriving on April 25th for the PS4 and the PS Vita.
