It’s been quite a long time since the release of the original Okami on the PlayStation 2, way back in 2006 and was re-released a few years later on the Wii (2008). Since then, an HD version has been released on pretty much everything besides a toaster, including the PS3, PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Switch.

Ikumi Nakamura who worked on the original Okami, tweeted a short GIF showing her and Hideki Kamiya, the Lead Designer on Okami, stating that “Okami is going to be back!” You can see the full tweet below:

It’s still just considered speculation, since Capcom did recently state it wanted to “utilize dormant IP.” Unfortunately, no specifics were given as to what IP was being referred too. So if this tweet was a way to get Capcom’s attention, willing the company to bring Okami back, then a lot of fans will be disappointed. Hopefully this won’t be the case.
