No Man’s Sky Endurance Update Available Today

Developer of No Man’s Sky, Hello Games, has unveiled the next expansion for the space exploration title, called Endurance. This is the 20th update released for the No Man’s Sky thus far, and like all its other content, will be free to download starting today, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

This update primarily focuses on managing freighter fleets, customizing your capital ships, and exploring the inside of the new bridge section. Players will be able to observe the galaxy through the the bridge, as well as other sections of the ship. Building on the outside of capital ships is now permitted.

Each ship can be inhabited with crew members that will keep the freighter operating at its peak, like engineers, biologists and technicians. Freighter exteriors also received a visual overall, with enhanced textures, detailed surface decoration (which can be customized), and improved colors.

Organic frigates also feature more diversity, coming in a number of color, shape, and tentacle figuration. Traits and states of these organic vessels can also be evolved by feeding them from the Fleet Management screen. Lastly, teleportation nodes can be set up on any point in within the ship, making it easier to travel between sections.

Hello Games also overhauled space debris in this update, giving astroid fields more detail, making them more visually exciting. Black holes also received a new visual effects update.

Another massive addition in this update is the Polestar expedition. It’s an interstellar cruise where you’ll need to keep the freighter repaired, reveal its mysterious past, and journey across space as its captain. Complete the expedition and you’ll earn exclusive base parts, posters, the Fleet Commander’s Cape, the High-Gravity Freighter Trail, a Child of Helios companion, and even more rewards.
