It’s been quite some time since No Man’s Sky’s initial release and the game has been through quite a bit of change since then. Developer Hello Games has had quite a few free updates and it appears they are ready to drop another one. Today, they teased the next content release, called Frontiers.
In a Twitter post, Sean Murray from Hello Games included Frontiers at the end of a list of every update that has come to the game thus far. The post also shows a sizzle reel of past updates, with a title card at the end that confirms Frontiers will, too, be free for all players. This is a rather small tease and includes no details on what Frontiers will entail.
In addition to showing all the listed updates, the tweet puts into context just how much work Hello Games has done with No Man’s Sky since its original release. The game launched back in 2016, but it has gained a devoted following since then and is now basically a live game.
I seems that the Frontiers expansion is the fifth anniversary surprise that Hello Games hinted at back in May. If it arrives this year, it’ll be the four named update launched in 2021.
