Nintendo Direct Arriving Tomorrow, Bringing 40 Minutes Of Switch News

The next Nin­ten­do Direct event has been announced, and it’s sur­pris­ing­ly soon. Nin­ten­do revealed that the next Direct will hap­pen Wednes­day, Feb­ru­ary 9th. That’s tomor­row, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET, so it’s a quick turnover from the announcement.

Nin­ten­do’s show­case will run for about 40 minutes–so it’s a rather long stream–that will fea­ture news “main­ly” focused on Nin­ten­do Switch games launch­ing in the first half of 2022. Of course, the “main­ly” part sug­gests the brief­ing could con­tain news about titles launch­ing with­in dif­fer­ent time frames.

Nin­ten­do gave no teasers or indi­ca­tions as to what peo­ple can expect from this livestream, so it will just have to be left to the peo­ple to spec­u­late. This is the first Nin­ten­do Direct since the Ani­mal Cross­ing: New Hori­zons-focused Direct in Octo­ber and the gen­er­al Direct from Sep­tem­ber 2021.

In oth­er Nin­ten­do news, the Switch recent­ly sur­passed 100 mil­lion con­soles sold, out-sell­ing the Wii and mak­ing it the best-sell­ing home con­sole for the com­pa­ny. Nin­ten­do’s pres­i­dent also men­tioned that the Switch is still only in the mid­dle of its lifecycle.
