Developer Techland opened Xbox’s Gamescom 2021 presentation with a Dying Light 2: Stay Human trailer, which showed the new combat and traversal the studio added to the open-world zombie title.
The latest gameplay trailer is around three minutes long, and we got to see a brief view at how massive the sequel might actual be. The protagonist Aiden Caldwell can be seen using a braided grappling hook to haul himself into the shambles of a building. This really shows how important traversal could potentially be in Dying Light 2.
The parkour mechanics were also seen, with Aiden running, jumping, and climbing through a zombie infested city. There was even a scene where he jumps off a large ledge and deploys a paraglider. You can check out the full trailer below.
Techland did speak about Dying Light 2: Stay Human before and after the trailer was aired. The studio stated the sequel contains twice as many parkour moves as the original Dying Light. Additionally, buildings are higher and combat moves have been altered to make them more fluid between fighting and traversal.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is expected to launch December 7th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can check out our preorder guide if you want to pick up a copy.
