New Destiny 2 Patch Brings Masterworks Weapons, Changes + More

Players have not been happy with Destiny 2 or its post launch content, that is no secret. In an attempt to calm the unhappy Destiny community, developer Bungie has spoken out on why they put launch content behind a paywall leaving the game basically uplayable for those who don’t want to shell out the extra cash to buy the DLC and released a new patch to fix some issues. Honestly I feel it should be illegal for Bungie and all game developers to take away features the game shipped with unless you buy the DLC.

Version 1.1.1.1 is available now and brings Masterworks weapons. A Masterwork weapon is a legendary weapon that drops bonus orbs on multi kills and also has certain stats/perks that can be “re-rolled” to switch the changeable stat/perk to something else. This is a big deal because pre-patch Destiny 2 made duplicate weapons worthless. Masterworks weapons can be obtained via random drop and by upgrading certain legendary weapons to Masterwork weapons by tearing down Masterwork weapons you don’t want and using the materials to upgrade another weapon.

Xur will also be selling the 3 of coins consumable. It works a bit differently than it did in Destiny 1, it now gives you a buff that increases your drop chances for 4 hours. No longer do you need to use another one after you kill a major or an ultra. It last for 4 hours no matter how many enemies you kill.

Commander Zavala, Tess Everis and Lord Shaxx sell boons that guarantee certain packages after completing certain activities.
