Another Battle Royale style title has been released for Xbox One players, titled the Darwin Project. It’s definitely not your average Royal game, as it doesn’t tout they typical “shoot-em’-up” weapons. It’ll be interesting to see how one of these matches turns out.
There’s no huge player numbers during a match, only 10. Described as; “Players are always within arm’s reach of a tense confrontation with rivals. Contestants getting careless or hoping to hide out and avoid encounters will soon find themselves frozen to death.”
Tracking and Manhunting
Another major difference with this Royal is, not only are you trying to compete against others, but you must survive the harsh winter surroundings. So when you build a campfire or craft items, it leaves a trail for other players to find you. Make good use of weapons, traps, and scavenged tools to gain the upper hand.
Show Director
There’s another oddity, as there will be an 11th player who becomes the “Show Director. This player oversees the other ten duking it out on the field in the form of a drone. They have the ability to unleash special powers like nukes, zone closures, and gravity storms.
Darwin Project is a third-person combat game, with players having an axe and bow as their major weapons. However, upon finding electronics, you can add tools like energy shields to your arsenal.
